Cheshire Residents Go Online To Consult On Council Budget

Published: 28th July 2011 10:25

Cheshire West and Chester Council has launched an online interactive tool to consult residents on next year's budget.

YouChoose has been made available at no cost to all local authorities to help them engage with local residents on how to make financial savings. It will run until September 30th and local people are asked to visit http://youchoose.yougov.com/CheshireWestandChester.

Cllrs Derek Bateman and Les Ford urge residents to take part in an online interactive tool to consult residents on next year's budget. Cllrs Derek Bateman and Les Ford.

Executive Member for Resources, Councillor Les Ford, said: "This important application allows residents to set their views on where spend should take place, generate income, and or make efficiency savings. The public's opinions will inform us on how the Council should allocate its budget and this will be taken into account.

"The aim is to gather as much public opinion as possible to feed into the budget process which culminates in the setting of the budget next February."

Councillor Derek Bateman, leader of the Opposition said: "As well as the YouChoose application, the Council has held a number of focus groups, giving residents their chance to speak on these issues across the Borough.

"Further consultation events will be held throughout November and December and there will be more opportunities to contribute your views during the second stage of consultation. I would urge local people to get involved."
