Zumba! Classes Start Up Again in Neston and Heswall

Local Zumba Instructor Jennifer Emery has had an amazing year of Zumba in Neston and Heswall and is looking forward to 2012 as her classes start up again.

'ZumbaJen' started up her classes in January 2011 and they have gone from strength to strength. Jennifer said: "2011 has been an amazing year. I never dreamt that I would have achieved so much in such a little time......I have met, and had the pleasure to teach, thousands of participants in 2011 from across Neston, Heswall and the Wirral and I have made so many friends in the process.

"I love the fact that women and men have come to my classes by themselves initially and have made so many friends there who now regularly meet in and outside of class.....it has brought a lot of the community together. I have daughters, mothers and grandmothers from the same family coming to my classes to get fit."

She successfully held a Zumba Weekend for just under 200 participants at Presthaven Sands Holiday Park in Prestatyn in November 2011.

It is looking highly likely that due to the success and the demand from her classes and participants that another Zumba Weekend will take place in 2012. During the Zumba Weekend, Jennifer held a 2 hour Zumbathon for Children in Need, raising around £500; and throughout 2011 Jennifer has been involved in, and helped to raise over £2500 for local charities by taking part in Zumbathons.

Jennifer said: "2012 will hopefully be another amazing year.....I will be starting Zumba Toning classes which will take participants to an entirely different fitness level. Zumba Toning is a muscle shaping programme in which you use lightweight toning sticks (maracas style). In a very short period of time this programme will help you to build coordination, muscular strength and help to reshape your body. This class is available to everyone over the age of 16. No previous Zumba experience required. You do not need sticks to take part. Places are limited so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

"I look forward to seeing old and new participants in 2012. To anyone thinking of coming to my classes I would say.....just give it a go....no monthly fees.....just pay as you go. There is no pressure to get the moves right.....you do not have to be a dancer....the atmosphere is so much fun....what do you have to lose?"

Jennifer also runs Zumba Gold classes on a Wednesday morning at Heswall British Legion at 11am. Zumba Gold is designed for active older adults and those completely new to fitness. It has the same great music as a Zumba class but the moves are low impact. The class length is only 40 mins so it is ideal for beginners.

Jennifer also sells Zumbawear clothing at her classes so if you have friends or family members who love Zumba then the clothing would be great as a gift.
