The total sum raised was £3042, out of which £2400 will be divided between Claire House and Clatterbridge Hospital Oncology Unit. The balance of the money will be donated to other Rotary charities.
Rotary's Father Christmas attended Gordale and Sainsbury's on several occasions in his Christmas float, listening to the Christmas wishes of children and presenting them with a small gift.
Father Christmas also toured roads around Neston in the Rotary float so that parents could bring their children to meet him. During the tours the Rotary Club were assisted by members of the local ATC.
Each year the President of Rotary Club of Neston has assisted the Mayor in switching on the festive lights at Neston Cross followed by the arrival of Father Christmas in his float to the delight of many children. This tradition has been organised by Rotary for many years and in the process the Neston club has raised many thousands of pounds for charity.

Is that a record for Christmas collections? Sounds like a lot to me.
