Huge Excitement in Neston as an Elephant Comes to Town

Published: 23rd May 2012 06:44

Elephant Coffee® is an independently owned venture, bringing high quality gourmet coffee and great service to the heart of Neston.

Elephant Coffee, NestonOwners Emma and Adam Mitchell are both former pupils at Mostyn House school and long-time Neston and Parkgate residents. Emma's parents ran Drakes Stores for several years, so her local business pedigree is certainly not in doubt.

Emma and Adam took on the entire building that used to host Golbourne's greengrocers, and set about a comprehensive renovation, which has been widely lauded as a real improvement to the High Street.  The upper floors have been converted into flats, and the ground floor is now the proud home of Elephant Coffee.

Emma says: "We have a real desire to keep business in Neston and see the town centre thrive, and for some time we have thought that the area needs a really good coffee shop, as so many people have been travelling out of the area to visit chains.

"Wherever possible, we've used local suppliers and workers to renovate and furnish the building and the café itself, and will continue to source as much produce locally as we can, as well as employing local staff.

"We would like Elephant Coffee® to be a welcoming destination for local and visiting coffee lovers, a place to escape the daily stresses of life and a comfortable place to meet friends or read a book."

On offer at Elephant Coffee® is everything a caffeine junkie could wish for, including Cappucino, Latte, Americano, Espresso, Mocha and Macchiato. Plus there will be a range of enticing teas, hot chocolate and refreshing cold drinks.  For the peckish, a tempting range of baked goodies, paninis, soup, sandwiches and cakes.

There are also magazines, newspapers and free Wi-Fi for customers to enjoy if they wish to sip their coffee in the café, and a full take-away service is also available.

Elephant Coffee® is open from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. There is plenty of FREE parking just behind the café, in the Chester Road/Brook Street Car Park.

I wish Adam and Emma all the best for their new venture, they have taken a run down building and breathed new life into it.The building fits well into Neston with its traditional black and white facade but is 21st century with the free wi-fi.Its nice to see local business people who own their property as well rather than absentee landlords who don't really care about the area.

Walked past the shop-front this morning - place looked superb. You can tell how much care and effort has gone into the design & layout. I applaud those involved. Hopefully this is the first of many 'Elephants' and the first of many new businesses committing themselves to reinvigorate Neston. Looking forward to reading a good book over a strong Americano.

The whole building is now an asset to Neston, I've never paid much attention to it, but now it has been renovated it really makes you take notice of some of the architecture that Neston has to offer. I just wish every building on the high street was renovated to this standard. I would like to wish Adam and Emma good luck with this new venture.
