Body Found at Arrowe Park Identified as Missing Man John Ankers

Police have confirmed that the body found in woodland close to Arrowe Park Hospital is that of missing Wirral man John Ankers.

A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish cause of death.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the body found in woodland near to Arrowe Park Hospital yesterday morning is that of missing person John Ankers.

"A file is being prepared to pass to the coroner."

Mr Ankers had been missing since Sunday January 20th, a few days after hearing that his job with DVD rental shop Blockbusters was at risk.

John was last seen around 10.15am on that Sunday, as he left for work in Birkenhead. 

His wife Katrina, 27, who he married in September last year, was joined by family and friends in a massive search for her husband, including widespread appeals through social media sites Twitter and Facebook.
