Arrowe Park Hospital - Back to Normal Following Power Failure
Published: 5th March 2015 22:51 |
Normal service has resumed at Arrowe Park Hospital, following a power failure that forced the cancellation of operations and out-patient appointments.
Engineers worked tirelessly to restore power, whilst emergency generators kept things ticking over after a massive power failure on Thursday morning. During the crisis, patients and visitors were asked not to visit the site unless "absolutely necessary".
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "The electrical problem at Arrowe Park Hospital has been rectified and we're now operating as normal including all scheduled operations, clinics, outpatient appointments and visiting.
"We have emergency plans for this type of situation which were implemented and worked extremely well.
"We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding but give a reminder that our Accident and Emergency department is for serious life threatening conditions only."
Staff worked tirelessly to keep on top of the situation, which triggered a backlog of out-patient appointments and operations that will have to be re-scheduled over the coming weeks.
