Neston Town Council to Engage Partner Organisation for Community Events

Published: 18th August 2015 09:24

Neston Town Council plans to advertise for a partner organisation that is able to project manage and/or deliver key community events and activities and projects commissioned by the Council.

One of the events that has been developed and organised in
recent years by the CH64 Events Group led by CAN.

To this end the Council are inviting local community groups - existing or newly formed, to comment on the Council's proposed scheme and tender process.

The Town Council is seeking to harness the enthusiasm of local groups in organising events and activities to give event and project management and funding certainty for existing and potential events and projects. The Council will ask local community groups - existing or newly formed in response to this scheme - to tender for the organisation and delivery of a defined set of events, and for new events and schemes initiated by the Council, as the Council's official Project Partner. The appointed partner will be paid a fixed project management fee for each event, a single grant-in-aid for each project, and will be expected to raise additional funding for each.

In order for the Council to be able to evaluate the benefits accruing to the community and value for money relating to each event/project, within two months of the conclusion of each the Project Partner will be expected to produce a single set of verified accounts to the Council, as well as a report including the following information:

• number of participants;
• key benefits generated by the event/project;
• engagement of other local organisations, voluntary or statutory;
• additional funds levered in as a result of the Town Council's investment.

The Council now welcomes views from all community groups to the process outlined above, as well as an indication as to whether the group would be interested in tending for such a scheme, whether as described above or with modifications.

Groups should address comments, to be received by Friday 16 October, to
