Where Did These Sign-writers Go To School?

Published: 13th October 2015 09:21

In the wake of signs for utility works in Neston reading 'Town Center' (sic), Neston resident Dr Andy Beddoes writes....

I spotted this interesting road sign today (Monday October 12) by the DC Transmission Cable works on the A540 just before Gordale Nursery. At first I thought it was me, so I turned around for a second look! There was then another identical one a few 100m further down.

Where did these sign-writers go to school?

Excuse the poor quality pic, as was taken with my phone at 6am this morning at 5 degrees Celsius!, ironically whilst commuting on my bicyCle ! (Capital 2nd letter ‘C' intended, as you will see from the picture !).

Enjoy.

Dr A. Beddoes (Neston)

Editor's note: My personal bugbear at the moment is the information displayed on TV screens in the waiting room at Neston Surgery in Mellock Lane.  More aberrant apostrophes than you can shake a s'tick at!

I get dozens of scam emails purporting to be from banks (saying 'your a/c may have been compromised' etc) and one of the surest ways of spotting them is by the spelling and grammatical errors. Last week one scammer excelled himself by claiming to be Llyods (sic) Bank!

Sometimes I return unsolicited mail from firms (quite genuine ones probably) with the mistakes marked in red ink. If there are 10 or more errors I have been known to write 0/10 on them too!

You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
