A record-breaking 140 people took part in the third annual Santa and Elf Dash from Elephant Coffee in Neston to Elephant Lounge in Parkgate.

The snowy conditions added a distinctly festive feel to the event, which this year was raising money for young people's projects with Neston Community Youth Centre and Hip & Harmony CIC.

First Santa to complete the dash, and winning a boiler service from AP Mitchell Ltd, was Michael Close. The first Elf past the post was Esmee Baylis, who won an Elephant keepy cup.
All participants' names went into a prize draw, the winning Santa was Nigel Jones, who picked up a pair of weekend tickets for ParkgateFest 2018. The Elf prize in the draw went to Thomas Woodhouse, who won a pair of passes for Jumpin' Josephs.
A previously unannounced prize of a £20 voucher to spend at Marsh Nurseries in Parkgate went to Victoria Chandler - for coming last!
After the dash, participants were welcomed at Elephant Lounge with hot drinks, goody bags and entertainment courtesy of Hip & Harmony CIC's 64 N'Ukes and and community choir members.
The initial estimate of the amount raised is a whopping £685! Congratulations to everyone involved with an excellent example of the community coming together to have fun in a great local cause.
Thanks also to sponsors Neston & District Chamber of Trade, Rightway Ltd and Phillip Bates & Co Ltd.
