Hip & Harmony CIC finished a busy year on a high this weekend, with their Celebration of Youth show at Neston Civic Hall.
Family and friends snapped up all 225 tickets for the event in record time. Their enthusiastic applause for all the performances contributed enormously to the warm and happy atmosphere in the hall.
Hip & Harmony's Street Dancers get ready to take to the stage at the Celebration of Youth.
Young people from the organisation's Street Dance (Mini Poppers, Boppers, Freedom, Groovers and Overload), Mini Zone and Music Zone groups and soloists entertained with great aplomb. Aged from just 4 years right up to teens, the talent on show was a delight to see.
A huge number of volunteers gave up their time to organise and present the show. Heading up the team was Hip & Harmony's Creative Director Paula Prytherch, with right hand women Cheryl Barker and Sarah McGinty. Others took care of sound, lights, costumes, make up, front of house, refreshments and a raffle, with proceeds going to support Hip & Harmony projects in the new year.
Speaking after the show, Paula said: "It's a pleasure to work within our community. Last night was a very proud moment for me, watching our young people grow from strength to strength.
"Their commitment, talent and respect for each other is amazing. We have 80 plus children who attend our sessions each week and every single one of them is awesome!
"We have some really exciting plans for our youth in 2018/19, so watch this space."
