Alan Johnson MBE picked up his coveted award at Buckingham Palace this week.
Alan became the second member of the Northern Lights Charity team to be awarded the MBE, following in the footsteps of Chairman Karen Jones, who collected her award earlier this year.

Speaking after the ceremony, Alan said: ""What a fabulous day at Buckingham Palace, receiving my MBE from The Duke of Cambridge.
"Memories that will stay with me forever. Delighted to have been honoured and overwhelmed by the amount of comments and messages I have received."
Northern Lights Children's Charity, based in Neston, was set up in 1987 in memory of Alan's son, Christopher, who lost his battle for life at the age of 5 after suffering with a brain tumour. Every December, the charity takes a group of children, aged between 6 and 11, on a short holiday to the Arctic Circle in Lapland to meet Father Christmas.
