The new Junior Mayor of Neston, Lucas Sibeon, has been presented with his badge of office.
Lucas, a pupil at Parkgate Primary School, will accompany the town's mayor or deputy to various events throughout the course of the school year.
The Mayor, Cllr Dominic Roberts, and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Christine Warner, visited Lucas at school recently and attended the weekly special achievement assembly where they presented Lucas with his Junior Mayor badge.
Cllr Roberts said "Neston Town Council is thrilled to be working with local primary schools, giving young people the opportunity to take part in civic events and learn more about their local community."
The new Junior Mayor has already been busy, helping to present community grant certificates to Little Actors, a local organisation that provides professionally-led performing arts activities for both children and adults.
The Mayor and Junior Mayor recently visited Little Actors at their Brook Street premises.
When asked what he was most looking forward to, the new Junior Mayor said: "Finding out about all the different things going on in Neston, and meeting the children and adults who make Neston such a great place!"
All four primary schools in the Neston Town Council area are supporting this project and will each elect a junior mayor on a rota basis over a four-year cycle.
