AboutMyArea is delighted to report that Ness resident Victoria Fleming-Spink (aka Vicky), has achieved her triple running challenge and so far raised nearly £650 for Neston Community Youth Centre along the way.
The smile says it all - Vicky Flemin-Spink after finishing the Chester Metric Marathon this weekend.
As we reported back in March, Vicky took on the fitness goal after a health scare a couple of years ago. Now that is very much a distant memory as she romped home in the Chester Metric Marathon in 2 hours and 53 minutes. This followed her successful completion of the Chester 10k and Chester Half Marathons.
Whilst training, she enjoyed herself so much she also decided to go for the Wirral Half Marathon in the summer.
Two of the other medals she's picked up this year for her efforts.
Speaking after completing this weekend's Metric Marathon, Vicky said: "It's been quite a journey - many miles run, and several pairs of trainers later, I finally qualified for my Chester Triple medal.
"A big thank you to everyone for your support along the way and a very special thank you for helping me to raise funds for our community centre in the heart of Neston, NCYC.
"Within 10 minutes of today's finish I may have said can I please do it all again next year, so watch this space!"
Congratulations Vicky and rest assured, if you do it again next year, we're all behind you.
You can help
Many people locally still do not realise that Neston Community Youth Centre, which provides a huge range of activities and support for all members of the community, is a charity. It relies on fundraising, room hire and occasional grants to keep going. If you would like to show your support for them, and your appreciation for the huge effort that Vicky has made this year, please visit her fundraising page here.
