Neston Ladies Day 2009

Ladies Day 2009 took place in Neston on Thursday 4th June.
On a beautiful Summer's day Neston once more celebrated it's unique Ladies Day walk, organised by the Neston Female Society.
168 children took part this year, along with adult members of the Society and local dignitaries and guests, including the newly installed Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Ebo.
For one little girl it was an extra special day - Jessica celebrated her 5th birthday by taking part in the walk for the first time.
Another cause for celebration was the marking of Rob Halsall's 21 years as Secretary of the Female Society. As an ardent Liverpool FC supporter, Rob was delighted with the plaque presented to him at the Civic Hall, signed by his hero Steven Gerrard. Rob was also very proud to see his 15 year old granddaughter acting as a stewardess on the walk.
Once again Rob appealed for more support for this precious tradition: "It was a lovely day, the flowers looked great as usual and the Mayor of Chester and his wife enjoyed the day very much.
"It's always a concern that not enough girls go on to become full Society members. We need more adults to take part to ensure the continuation of Neston Ladies Day well into the future."
We would like to extend huge thanks to Terri Leahy at The Brown Horse for giving us a "birds-eye-view" of the ceremony at The Cross. Also, our thanks to Flower Lounge and Orchard Rose for supporting our coverage of this year's Ladies Day.

PLEASE NOTE - apologies, but our full galleries from some Ladies Club Day articles have been removed as they were previously hosted on Flickr Pro, the cost for which became too prohibitive.
