Police seek witnesses to serious assault in Parkgate

Local police have asked for members of the public to come forward if they have information relating to a recent assault.
At approximately 8.50pm on the evening of Friday 14th November 2008, a local 67-year-old man was walking with his wife along The Parade at Parkgate, where he had cause to speak to two youths who wwere shouting and swearing. He asked them to stop their behaviour.
Without warning, one of them struck his head causing a fractured cheek bone, and he fell to the floor. The offenders ran off in the general direction of Neston.
Unfortunately, on the 8th December 2008, the victim was found collapsed at home and was taken to hospital, where he underwent an operation to remove a clot from his brain. He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Descriptions of the two people being sought for questioning about the assault are:
a) White male, approximately 19 years of age, approximately 5'8", slim build, with an unshaven face, wearing a black hooded top.
b) White male, approximately 19 years of age, approximately 5'6", slim build, wearing a white hooded top.
