Neston's Red Voix pipped at the post

Published: 9th October 2009 18:06

STOP PRESS

Sadly Red Voix did not win the Universal recording contract up for grabs in GMTV's No 1 Family contest. They were narrowly beaten to the spoils by Nantwich's "Beardsmith," a family who have been performing together for ten years.

However throughout the contest the trio's obvious talents impressed all the judges, and all three have said how much they've enjoyed the experience, so we will surely see more performances from them in the near future.

Original story follows.

The Davies family of Parkgate, Neston, have reached the final 5 of GMTV's search for Britain's No.1 Family.

Red VoixRed Voix find out they are through to the final.

The eventual winners will be given a recording contract with Universal Records, one of the world's biggest recording companies and home to artists such as Girls Aloud, The Saturdays and the Bee Gees.

If successful, Ian, Rebecca and Hannah Davies, who are performing in the contest as "Red Voix," could have their own album in the stores in time for Christmas.

From 1000 families who entered, Red Voix have come through a series of auditions and now find themselves in the final five, all of whom are performing live on GMTV this  week, and it will be up to the viewers to decide who wins.

The Davies' were interviewed live on GMTV last week (click here to view the clip).

Rebecca, who along with sister Hannah is a pupil at Neston High School said: "I saw the competition advertised, and just thought - why not go for it.  We thought up the name as we were filling out the entry form.

"Voix is French for voices, and we all have red hair!"

Dad Ian adds: " We didn't expect to get this far, it's been great.  I've been singing in pub and club bands for a number of years, and the girls both perform a lot of musical theatre and drama.

"I'm extremely proud of the girls, and I'm very glad they entered now."

If you'd like to give this talented local family your support, make sure you watch No.1 Family on GMTV all this week, where details of how to vote for them will be revealed.  The winners will be announced on October 12th.

Good luck Red Voix!
