Tesco in Neston welcomes local MP and schoolchildren

Andrew Miller MP and local school children visited Tesco in Neston today to celebrate this year's Tesco Schools and Clubs Scheme.
Earlier this year, in response to the needs of schools and clubs across the UK, Tesco amalgamated Computers for Schools and Sports for Schools & Clubs to create 'Tesco for Schools & Clubs' - one catalogue containing thousands of pieces of equipment and resources across the entire curriculum for primary and secondary school pupils.
From March 1st to May 9th, shoppers in the Neston area received vouchers which they donated to a school or club of their choice, who were then able to select the equipment they wanted from the cataloge - everything from paints and canvasses to cricket bats, digital cameras, computer software and recycling bins.
Steve Plowright, Store Manager at Neston MetroTesco said: "Tesco for Schools & Clubs is a scheme which my team are proud to be part of.
"Thousands of customers have been collecting vouchers to help their local schools and clubs get this equipment, showing what can happen when a whole community gets involved."
Pictured with Andrew Miller are children from Neston Primary School (Yr 4 pupils Rachel Green and Rebekah Wilson), Willaston Primary School (Yr 6 pupils Emily Crate and Sam Spencer) and Woodfall Primary School (Year 2 pupils Mya Harrison and Joseph Jones), along with the staff and parents who accompanied them to the store.
Steve Plowright and Andrea Butterworth from Tesco provided tea and cakes and helped Mr Miller to present the children with resource boxes for their schools along with individual goody bags.
