M56 Fatal Lorry Accident - Driver's Family Pay Tribute
Published: 8th November 2011 09:51 |
The devastated family of lorry driver Tony Sainsbury who died when his heavy goods vehicle fell onto the M56 near Warrington this week have paid tribute to him.
Tony, aged 42, from Walton in Liverpool, died after his vehicle fell from a bridge onto the westbound carriageway of the M56 on Monday November 7th.
A spokeswoman for the North West Air Ambulance said: "One male fatality has been confirmed - the lorry driver sadly died at the scene.
"The crew treated just two other people who suffered shock, which is an absolute miracle when you consider that the lorry fell directly onto the carriageway of the motorway."
Any witnesses to the accident are urged to contact Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000 quoting incident 553 of 7th November 2011.
From Cheshire Police: A tribute on behalf of Mrs Lucie Sainsbury and family:
"Our family has been left truly devastated by the tragic events.
Tony was the centre of our family; a hero to his two beautiful children, a wonderful husband and devoted son. He embodied everything that was loyal, honest and decent. Every child would wish for a father like him, every wife a husband like him, every mother a son just like him. Everybody who knew him, knew how lucky they were to have somebody like him in their lives and his love, generosity and kindness will always remain with us and see us through this seemingly impossible time - for at the end of a storm is a golden sky."
