Christmas Comes to Neston's Market Square

News just in...over £500 was raised for Save Our Sue in Neston on Friday....
Market shoppers in Neston were treated to some festive entertainment this week, and all in a number of goodNews causes!
First up were the St Winefride's RC Primary School choir, who performed some of their favourite carols, raising funds for their Year 6 Conway residential trip.
Hot on their heels were the immensely talented members of the Neston High School Senior Band. Their impressive set was also very seasonal, bringing smiles to the faces of passers-by, as they played and raised money for the 6th Form's nominated cancer charity.

Bringing perhaps the biggest smiles though was our very own Linda Pelling - in front of the camera for once, and singing her heart out for Save Our Sue. She was joined by two other talented local singers - Emily Walmsley and Annie Long.
Joining all these entertainers today were volunteers from Neston Community & Youth Centre, who are Sainsbury's Neston's charity partner this year. They were handing out information about the many courses and clubs based at the Centre.
Last but not least were volunteers from the CH64 Events Group, reminding visitors to the Square about the festivities taking place later on with the switching on of the Christmas lights and the annual lanter procession, and selling tickets for the Star of Wonder, being performed on Saturday night at Neston Civic Hall.
Linda Pelling said: "Neston people are so generous...especially so close to Christmas.
"I really enjoyed it, thank you to everyone for your support!"
Well done everyone - it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Our report on the evening event will follow very soon, so please check back for updates.
