Two-and-a-half years of determined fund-raising came to fruition last week when the refurbished Community Hall at the local United Reformed Church was officially re-opened.

improved facilities at the Community Hall.
Neston Town Mayor, Cllr Tom Marlow declared the hall open, at an event attended by 70 representatives of hall users and funders.
Over £100,000 was raised from grants and URC members to improve the hall, which is a major facility for numerous community groups in and around Neston. The hall has been extended in length and more space made available by seat and table storage off the hall. The kitchen has been improved and storage space extended. A new toilet for disabled users has been installed.
The first phase of the work was completed last year, and included a new foyer which may also be used for smaller activities, roof insulation and a more efficient heating system.
The whole building has benefited from redecoration and new doors.
A third of the cost was met from external funding, chiefly from the Cheshire West & Chester Rural Support Fund, a quarter via the URC Mersey Synod, and the remainder from Parkgate & Neston URC Members and their efforts.
The large hall, foyer and smaller meeting rooms may be hired by contacting the lettings officer on 0151 336 2848.
