NatWest Neston Robbery - Man Arrested

Stop press: Friday 12 December, 11.20am - A man has been arrested in connection with this robbery.

Police seek witnesses and information regarding Neston High Street bank robbery - the second to take place at the same branch in 13 months.

At 1640 hours on Wednesday December 10, a Robbery took place at the Natwest in Neston Town Centre.
Three men in masks/balaclavas and hoods gained entry via the roof of the building and left with four large cash boxes containing approximately £35,000.
They made off in a Black Peugeot van which was recovered, partially burnt out, in Mayfield Gardens (off Liverpool Road in Neston) still containing the cash boxes.
An amount of money dropped by the suspects was recovered from the rear alley way to the bank, amongst other items. Items recovered from the scenes, CCTV, witnesses and Forensics now form part of the overall investigation. No public were affected by this incident.
Anyone who has seen a vehicle and persons acting suspiciously in Neston over the last few days or around the time of this incident (Wednesday 10th Dec'14 between 1530 and 1640 hours) can call 101 quoting incident number 621.
The last robbery at the branch, which is earmarked for closure next March, took place in November 2013 and also involved a substantial sum of money. As yet no arrests have been made following the earlier incident and police are now looking at the possibility that the two events may be linked.

Hopefully the bank will compensate the staff for having allowed them to be put through this trauma once again.
