Hip & Harmony Bring Sparkling and Shining Talent to Neston Civic Hall

Neston's Hip & Harmony CIC, an organisation devoted to bringing contemporary arts to the local area, hosted a fabulous 'Celebration of our Youth' on Sunday December 13th.

The venue was the Civic Hall, in which tables had been set out to allow the 150-strong audience to rest their cups of tea and cake while they watched the young people perform.
Amongst the delights on offer were all the Hip & Harmony youth groups - Drama Zone, Music Zone and Street Dance, as well as guest performers from Millenium Dance Academy. Every single performer gave it 100% and a lot of very proud parents applauded enthusiastically after each act. The finale was a reprise of 'Sparkle and Shine' which Hip & Harmony Creative Director Paula Prytherch had coached the primary school choirs to sing for Neston's Lights 'n' Lanterns event, also held at the weekend.
All the groups that performed meet weekly in term time at Neston Community Youth Centre - it's a bustling hive of arts-based and lots of other activities! Full details can be found on the website, here.

Speaking after the show, Paula said: "I have one of the most rewarding jobs ever! Last night had to be one of the proudest moments for me, watching our young people perform and seeing how much they've all individually grown in confidence.
"Our awesome team of staff and volunteers work so hard supporting and developing their talents on a weekly basis, always bringing the best out in them.
"I would like to personally thank everyone for their hard work and commitment:
- Our Street Dance team Rachael Farrell, Emily Walmsley & Emily Hankin;
- Claire Danks for costumes;
- The Music Zone mentors - Marcel Musset, Christopher Blythyn, Will Warnock, Lynne Claire, Meghan Spacey, Charly Prytherch, Aaron Bladen & Tracy O'Toole;
- The Drama Zone team - Kerry Jackson, Shaja Tarbuck, Meghan Spacey & Charly Prytherch;
- All our Volunteers: Gareth Prytherch, Ian Danks, Cheryl Barker, Claire Culshaw, Brenda Sutton & her tea 'n' cake team from Choir, Margaret Smith, Marnie Clark, David Clark & Nathan Kennedy;
- Thanks to Neston Town Council, local councillors Louise Gittins, Andrew Williams, Martin Barker & Nigel Jones for their financial support;

Minimal photography was allowed during the show, so as not to interfere with guests' enjoyment of the performances. However, some photos, included here, were taken during rehearsals.
