Funding Success for Lees Lane Ponds in Little Neston
Published: 7th November 2016 16:16 |
Regular readers may remember that back in September, your help was requested by the Friends of Lees Lane Ponds.
They are a community group looking after the ponds area in Little Neston for the enjoyment of all.
Lees Lane Ponds needs your vote!
Skipton Building Society had allocated 163 donations of £500 to help fund development for grassroots organisations in communities and the Friends were asking for your votes to help them win one of the awards.
Now, they are delighted to announce that they have been successful. The money will go towards the purchase of pond-dipping sets, bug viewer sets, binoculars, a shower-proof canopy and an equipment box, to assist activities ranging from pond-dipping and learning about pond eco-systems, to bird watching, bat-walks and nature walks.
Friends' spokesman Robert Perry said: "Thanks to all who voted for us. Thanks also to the friendly staff at the Neston Branch of Skipton Building Society who encouraged and supported our application."
