Mostyn House Development - Photo Diary
Published: 26th November 2013 09:23 |
Work is well underway to develop the former Mostyn House School site in Parkgate into housing.
Developers PJ Livesey are converting some of the existing buildings into a range of dwellings and building new houses from scratch on the former playing fields.
Local resident and keen photographer Chris Howe has begun a photographic diary and kindly shared his photos with AboutMyArea Neston.
As Chris says, it's sad to see, in the second photo below, shelves full of books being dumped in the skip. One can only hope that anything that was in good enough condition to be recycled to other schools or elsewhere had already been cleared out!
Let's hope that the next photos we see are of the removal of the roof over the covered playground and the ensuing re-opening of the part of the road currently under traffic management.

Here are a couple of photos from Bernard Rose (27.10.2013):
More photos from Chris Howe, 24.11.2013. Chris says: "The only significant changes than can be seen are within the first and second pictures, which show the exposed wall which faces onto the Parade. The wall was damaged by high winds and has been propped up with scaffolding for over 2 years. The large scaffold structure spanned one lane of the Parade meaning there have been temporary traffic lights on the road for some time.
"The removal of the buildings behind the wall now means that the developer can repair the wall and re-open the blocked lane, much to the relief of local residents."

We now have a visiting PC expert in our library by the name of 'Doc Allen' who is a most welcome newcomer to the area and very good indeed.
He can be contacted on 0151 378 3958 or
e-mail :doc.allen@live.co.uk
His website is www.roochove.webeden.co.uk and most interesting.
I am sure that he will be able to sort out SHric's problem.
You're never alone with a pedant!
I spent seven years there, great memories of that school.
