Sustainable fashion pops-up at Brewery Square

Sustainable fashion pops-up at Brewery Square

Charity organisation ORIGIN will be hosting a pop-up shop in Brewery Square, Dorchester, from Thursday 16 until Sunday August 19, selling sustainable fashion.

Its signature sweatshirts feature pockets which are hand-woven and hand-dyed in Mopti (Mali), Brikama (Gambia) and the Simien Mountains (Ethiopia). As a not-for-profit organisation, 100 per cent of profits are reinvested back into the tribes from which these fabrics originate.

Alice Pittman, co-founder of ORIGIN, commented: "Tom and I split our time between our home in Exmoor and Sub-Saharan Africa, it's so rewarding to see the projects that we are raising money for come to life. Our collection aims to capture African artisanal creation, along with being proud in the knowledge that the item purchased is sustainably sourced and will benefit communities in need."

ORIGIN raises money for projects including providing remote sanitation in the Simien Mountains (Ethiopia), launching a seamstress school providing training opportunities for women in Bamako (Mali), and building an HIV specialist clinic in The Gambia.

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, said: "We're really excited to have the team from ORIGIN join us to host their pop-up shop. The products are lovely and Alice and Tom's passion to help these communities is incredibly inspiring."

The offering at Brewery Square includes Belle Modelle, Woods Furniture, Thomas J William, The Highbrow Clinic, Pizza Express, Hendover Café, Nandos, The Deli Kitchen and Costa Coffee. Visit https://www.brewerysquare.com/ for more information about Brewery Square.

Nice! You should submit your brand to New Dress Code. They feature many sustainable brands from UK https://www.newdresscode.com/fashion-brands

You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
