Encore to provide more job opportunities in Bournemouth and Christchurch due to growth in residents

Encore Care Homes is to provide more local job opportunities in the care industry due to an increase in the number of residents.

Great Oaks in Bournemouth and Fairmile Grange in Christchurch are both part of the Encore family in Dorset and are celebrating a record high in the number of residents at each of the homes. The growth in residents means that both homes are now opening the top level of the homes in order to cater for this increase in the demand for specialist care.

Encore is currently recruiting for a range of job roles to expand the care team at each home, including a Senior Health Care Assistant and Health Care Assistant, as well nurse positions. Jenny Rushton, care practitioner at Fairmile Grange, explained: "I went to college after I finished my GCSEs and completed a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. When I completed my studies, what drew me to a career at Encore was that I was looking for a role which would provide me with opportunities to progress in my role, and motivate me to push myself further, and I felt Encore was the best fit.

"Encore has invested in my career since I joined the team, I have completed our ‘Be an Effective Leader' course and I underwent six months of varied clinical training to become a Care Practitioner.

"I feel I demonstrate all of Encore's key values daily in my role including being spontaneous, creative, and joyful. My job is so rewarding, by working in a home rather than a hospital, you can grow long-term bonds with residents and their families too, making the team feel like part of their family."

Encore Care Homes manages three care homes in Dorset and Hampshire. Hamble Heights in Fareham, Fairmile Grange on the grounds of Christchurch Hospital (in partnership with the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust) and Great Oaks in Bournemouth. Oakdale in Poole is due to open in autumn 2019.
