Pop-up Mobile Cinema's core aim is to bring films to new audiences, and to attract new audiences to film. PFS Chairman and University of Portsmouth Lecturer Dr Justin Smith said about Pop-up Cinema Project:
"We hope that the legacy of this project will be establishing community cinema in areas of Portsmouth where access to alternative kinds of film experience is currently non-existent. Our aims are not simply to improve public access to film, and to broaden public awareness of different kinds of film experience; we also actively foster debate and discussion around issues raised by film and see cinema, in partnership with other organisations, as an important form of community development. Film opens new perspectives in people's lives. We hope with this project PFS will provide a gateway to education and empathy in the service of better community relations."
PFS are thankful to Creative England and Portsmouth City Council who supported the Pop-up Cinema Project.
