The brewery officially began in 2003, but this was really the culmination of
years of home brewing by Hoggleys brewer Roy Crutchley.

Back in 2003 when the brewery first went commercial, it was largely regarded
as the smallest licensed brewery in Britain; this is no longer the case.
After expanding from the original half barrel plant to a one and a half
barrel plant it has, since August 2006 become a full-time brewery running an
eight barrel plant based in Litchborough in South Northants.
Nowadays Roy is ably assisted by his partner Julie Hogg.

It was a case of if you can‚t change him, join him

We can be found selling our bottled beer on six Farmers Markets around the
county; Towcester, Olney, Oundle, Daventry, Brackley and Banbury. You can
buy our range of bottled conditioned beers there as well as order 10 litre
and 20 litre polypins of our beers (perfect for parties or barbeques), or 70
pint casks.

Our beers have been supplied to most of the true free houses in the county,
along with beer festivals from Manchester, throughout the Midlands and even
down in the East End of London.

However, Hoggleys is first and foremost a local brewery producing and
selling beers that reflect local taste, reducing the miles which beer
travels before being drunk and are proud to be part of South
Northamptonshire.
