Wildflower Gardens at Neston Methodist Church & Community Centre 2014 – Photo Diary Part 3

August 2014 marks One Hundred Years of the start of World War I.

The gardens and borders alongside Liverpool Rd were sown on Saturday 15th March, to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.

The gardens include The Welcome Porch garden (to the left of the Porch entrance), The Gravel Porch garden (to the right containing pots and planters), The Step Borders (either side of the original front entrance), and The Liverpool Road side borders.

The following photos, taken on Tuesday 6th May, show rapid growth since the last photos taken Friday 11th April. Some seedlings can now be identified, eg cornflower and poppy, while other seedlings remain a mystery!

The next few weeks remain very exciting as we wait to see what emerges. There might even be a flower bud or two! We hope you enjoy these photos and to share our hopes and aspirations for a beautiful display from late spring through summer.
