Historic Day as Neston High's New Building Opens Its Doors

On Friday 8th September 2017, the doors to Neston High School's impressive new building opened to the first students to enjoy the facilities.
Years 7 and 12 were first through the brand new doors. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by the two youngest students - Harry and Annalise - witnessed by the Mayor of Neston, Cllr Pat Kynaston, with Head Teacher Mr Steve Dool and Deputy Head Teacher Mrs Hudson.
The new building was constructed by Morgan Sindall over a period of 19 months, after the ground breaking ceremony took place on 6th January 2016, 58 years to the day since the original building opened. The project was possible thanks to a £25m government investment through the priority school building programme launched in 2011.

Further ribbon cutting ceremonies will take place on Monday when the remainder of the school start back.
Preparing for Phase 2
Contractors will soon commence Phase 2, which includes the demolition of the old buildings, to be replaced with a new all-weather sports pitch. There will also be development of a new car park and drop-off area, anticipated to be a significant improvement, with increased spaces and ease of access.
In the meantime, special provision will be made for parking out of normal teaching hours for events at the school such as Open Evening and Parents Evenings. Phase 2 is scheduled to be completed by Easter of 2018 when there will be an official opening.
Running concurrently with the Phase 2 works is a major £3million development at Neston Recreation Centre, next door to the new building. The Sports Hall will be back in operation for school use from mid‐September with the swimming pool, fitness suite and other facilities coming on‐line in stages as the project progresses.
