A Christmas Message from Rev Alan Dawson

Rev Alan Dawson, Vicar of the Parish of Neston shares his Christmas message with the community.

If I were to summarise Christmas it would be in one word - Emmanuel. This wonderful word says, ‘God is with us'. This is why Jesus was born and this was his ultimate mission.

Ipray we are all able to draw upon this belief that God is with us, despite what we might think about ourselves. The belief is that we are worthy (as the boys from ‘Wayne's World' might put it) of God's presence; this is something to offer thanks for. God is love, and God's love is for us.

There are a few groups within our community I feel deserve public thank you's which I'm sure echo many peoples' views - Neston Female Society, Neston Village Fair Committee, Neston Royal British Legion and the CH64 Events Group led by CAN (Community Activities in Neston - a force for action, I believe well worthy of your support) - These groups drive the key community gatherings of the year which I see as really important for our area.

I also give thanks for the many smaller events that take place.

My other thank you is to Carrie at AboutMyArea and all involved in capturing our history as it is being made.

The concluding message I want to give is that I pray one and all have a peaceful and loving Christmas. Happy Christ - mas!
