Competition is set to be particularly fierce in the Business of the Year (less than 10 employees), Business of the Year (more than 10 employees) categories, as well as Entrepreneur of the Year.
Nine businesses will battle it out in the category for businesses with less than 10 employees, while four of the area's bigger employers will compete in the more than 10 employees' category.
Four go-getters have been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category, with Elephant Coffee's Emma Mitchell going head to head with husband Adam, who has been shortlisted for his work launching the Futureproof Network on behalf of AP Mitchell.
There are now seven awards up for grabs at a special Awards and Networking Evening at Neston Cricket Club on Friday, February 7. Due to insufficient entries, there will be no award for Professional Services Firm of the Year.
Voting in the Customer Service Award of the Year went live earlier this week with six local businesses battling it out. This is the only award which will be determined by the votes of members of the public themselves via the About My Area CH64 website.
The Neston & District Business Awards are co-sponsored by Neston & District Chamber of Trade, About My Area CH64, business marketing company Brand and print specialist Evolution.

The Business Achievement Award will be awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Neston business community over a sustained period of time.
Nick Mason, Director of Brand, said: "The judges will have a tough job on their hands deciding the winners of the first ever business awards. There are some terrific businesses on the shortlist including some established names and some much newer businesses.
"We would like to say a big thank you to all business owners who have taken time to enter and support the awards in their first year."
Further information about the Awards and Networking Event on Friday, February 7, will be announced in the New Year but we hope that lots of local businesses - not just those which have been shortlisted - will come along to what promises to be an exciting evening.
