Sturmer Local History Group will visit Colchester Castle, 6th November
We have booked for a group visit on 6th November 2014. We will leave from Sturmer Village Hall in the Community Bus at 9.30 am. to arrive at the castle at 11am which will give us some time to look around before our guided tour at 12pm (which takes about an hour). We aim to come back about 3pm. to avoid the rush hour.
The museum has been refurbished and reopened earlier this year. The £4.2m project showcases the castle history and its collections of artefacts. The ground floor focuses on the Castle from the ruins of the Roman Temple of Claudius to the Royal Fortress in the middle ages. There are also dramatic recreations of events during the English Civil war. It's all wheelchair friendly.
The total cost for admission, guided tour and transport is £15.
If you would like to join us please let me know as soon as possible. Partners and friends are welcome too.
