Please support this once in a lifetime opportunity to hear from real life heroes, you will not be disappointed. Underneath is a brief history of Ed, Matt and Victoria.
Ed Parker – Co-Founder of WWTW
Ed Parker
Ed founded Walking With The Wounded with Simon Daglish in 2010 after his nephew was severely injured, losing both of his legs. Having spent 10 years in the army, serving in the First Battalion Royal Green Jackets, stationed in the UK and Germany and seeing operational service in Northern Ireland, Ed moved to Norfolk to start his own wine business in 2003.
‘Simon and I feel very strongly about showing support for the Armed Forces. It is something that we both feel society should be investing in, as these young people deserve so much from us after the sacrifices they have made.’
Matt Fisher
Matt discovered the Army Cadet Force in his teens and developed an interest in the Army. Whilst on a routine foot patrol in Sangin Matt sustained a gunshot wound to the foot on Boxing Day 2009, and was casevac’d back to Bastion and then on to hospital in the UK. After a year of walking badly made the decision to have his foot amputated.
Describing the walk of Britain Matt said
“I am over the moon to be part of the core team and feel like I have been handed a new lease of life that will give me the drive to take my civilian life to the next level. This will give me a great sense of pride and belonging and bring back a bit of the excitement I have been missing.”
Victoria Nicholson
Victoria is the Special Projects Manager for WWTW and says that she has the ‘best job in the world’ setting up the charity’s major expeditions.
