STURMER FAYRE, It’s a purple and orange day in Sturmer!
Look out for the purple and orange balloons in Sturmer on 18 September. That Sunday is the day of Sturmer Fayre at Sturmer Hall (turn right up the gravel track where you see the signs for Sturmer Nurseries) starting at noon with fun for all the family including your pet pooch.
Has your dog got the waggiest tail? We want him at the Fayre dog show organised by Shirley from the local Water Hall Kennels. There are 16 other categories so don’t forget to bring your dog along too.
Have you ever wondered how much Grandma’s antique necklace is worth? We want to see it at the Fayre Roadshow organised by Turners’ Collectables. They will be offering valuations, a collectables competition and promoting Sailing for the Disabled too.
The Fayre really is almost here after 12 months of planning – blood, sweat and (very nearly) tears. We are really excited and our lady volunteers are searching their wardrobes so they can wear purple and orange on the day as well as their distinctive gold volunteers’ bands.
Come along and join in the fun – Mum can take a day off from the kitchen with a delicious selection of eatables from fired up pizzas to tea and cake in the Sturmer Fayre Tea Shop. Then she can enjoy some retail therapy at our gift and craft stalls while Dad and the kids try their hands at our games from Splat the Rat to croquet.
We will also have all the usual attractions such as tombola stalls, charities, community groups, prize draw, dancers, singers and a rock band.
It should be a great day whatever the weather. See you there.
