Appeal following burglaries in Elmswell
Police are appealing for witnesses after two burglaries in Elmswell last week.
The first break-in occurred between 5pm and 10pm on Friday 12 April at a house in Oxer Close, where the glass in a rear door was smashed to gain entry to the property and money, jewellery and electrical items were stolen.
The second incident took place at some time between 5pm on Friday 12 April and 1.30pm on Saturday 13 April at an address in Bennett Avenue. Entry was again achieved by smashing the glass in a rear door and jewellery, cash and an aluminium baseball bat were stolen from within.
Detectives believe that these crimes are linked and are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the village to contact them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference 20690/19. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.
