Trimley St Mary burglary appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary that took place at Trimley St Mary.

It happened at some point on Friday 12 July between 9.30am and 11.15am at a property on Kirton Road.

The victim, a male in his 70s, left the property at 9.30am to go shopping and on his return at 11.15am he saw his front gate was open.

On entering the property he disturbed a male in a room who then fled the property. A second male also then fled another room in the property spraying a cleaning product in the face of the victim as he left.

The offenders had gained entry by smashing the glass window of a rear door - a rear sun-room had been broken into and a 46inch TV and knife was stolen.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Ipswich CID quoting crime reference 37/40782/19.
